Federal regulations require that you keep all food and cooking gear stored in food storage boxes were provided or in the trunk of your car or cab of your pickup. Hikers and bikers may suspend food packs between two trees at least 10 feet above the ground. Violators are punishable by fine and/or imprisonment.

And yet, we have no federal law, civil or criminal, that would allow punishment of candidates for federal office if they were to knowingly “feed” lies to the electorate.
