Thought For The Day

  • When you feel stress coming on, take time to relax. Focus on higher things than yourself.

I’m 130 miles outside Cleveland, Ohio. I have four days to cover a distance that would normally be a two day ride. I don’t want to arrive any sooner because if I do, I’ll get there before the Guardians do. you might be thinking, “what?” Let me explain. I’m not going to ride my bike all the way across the country without seeing at least one Major League Baseball game. As I was telling one Cyclist on the Canal Trail yesterday, “I’m going to have to drag my heels for the next four days.”

Yesterday I decided to get a room for the night. I’m glad I did. A Tornado Alert came in just as I was about to fall asleep. First time I’ve ever gotten one of those…

At the same time the alert came in, the weather app was reporting 7” of rain in the last 24 hours. Fortunately I was not caught in that yesterday.

It’s now 7 AM and I’m sitting at the local laundromat waiting for my laundry to finish. It has stopped raining, at least for now. Last night while I was waiting to get swept up to the Land of Oz, I bought a ticket to the Guardians game at 7:10 PM on Friday. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get there!

I’ve decided to make a break for it. There is a motel 2 miles’s east of here if things don’t go well.

More to follow…
