Thought #13
- Your past does not determine your future. Go ahead, dream it!
No big plans today. After my early morning nap, I decided to ride into town and take a photo of the house my dad grew up in. After that, I had planned to grab a bite to eat in Millersburg. That would’ve been about a 25 mile round-trip. When I got to Fairbault, I realized I had left my wallet in the campground. That meant going back to get it. That makes me less motivated to ride out to Millersburg.
While in town, I grabbed a photo of the house. My dad grew up in. It’s just a few blocks from downtown. I saw some people walking on the street so I asked them if they knew who lived in the house, they said they lived in the house. I asked them if they would take a photo of me. They were a bit hesitant, but they did. Unfortunately, not all of the house is captured in the background of that photo. You can get a good idea of what the house looks like from both of the photos below.
The rest of my day looks like a trip back to the campground for my wallet and then an early dinner in town and early to bed in the campground. Tomorrow I’m going to go into town and visit the Rice County Historical Society. I will be sharing what I learn in tomorrow’s post.

Very stylish, like my Grandmother. 308 Willow Street, her sister lived on 3rd Ave SW.

Proof positive I was there…
