Yesterday after I posted, I went for a walk. I stumbled into the Southwest Gallery of Art. I walked up to the front door to see if the gallery was open. Unfortunately, it closed at 4 PM and I was 10 minutes late. Before I could turn around to leave the gallery host opened the door and asked me if I wanted to come in!

I explained I was riding my bike across the country. They were thrilled and wanted to hear all about it. They took my photo for their Facebook page with one of the hosts handing me a yellow rubber duck. It seems they give a little rubber duck to all gallery visitors. I explained that I couldn’t accept their offer because back home, I drive a Toyota Tacoma and only people who drive Jeeps are allowed to have yellow ducks on their dashboard. They laughed and said, “so put it on your bicycle.” I thought about it and realized that was a pretty good idea.

The painting from yesterday’s post was one of the paintings that was hanging in the gallery.

What do you do with a yellow rubber duck if you don’t drive a Jeep?

Me, when it’s too cold to go cycling.
