What is a Fool?
“The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.”
—Shakespeare
Shakespeare actually stole that from Seneca. Seneca said: “I know I’m a fool. Show me a group of people that all think themselves wise and I’ll give you a group of fools.”
The real truth is Shakespeare said both. We don’t have a written record of Seneca having said that, but Shakespeare is sure he did.
